It's been a while, and a lot has happened since I last wrote. I think I just said I was done playing soccer. Turns out the back wasn't going to hold out for an entire season, and I got sick and tired of going to treatments and getting stem before and after every practice. I put up with that stuff for too long already, so I'm hoping to strengthen my back a lot this semester and see where to go from there. The room is good, the 4 of us are having a great time so far. Classes started Tuesday, and I'm ready for those to start picking up some so I can get into a rhythm here. The dorm is good, I'll try to post some pictures sometime soon.
Classes: Calculus 2, Computer Science, Written Comp 1, Psychology, and Gateway to Christian Learning
I went on a run today for the first time in about 2 weeks. Josh and I went for about 15 minutes at a pretty good pace, and my back only hurt for like 20 minutes after the run so that was a good sign. We plan on adding more time and more pace as we keep running, and hopefully we can do that every day at some point. It will be interesting to try to balance out the free time with social events and all that college jazz.
I hope everyone is doing well back in Chattanooga! I think I'm coming home this weekend to go out on the boat, hopefully with some friends. It should be a good time. I hope to keep in touch with a lot of my Chattanooga friends whenever I come back in town.
I have met a lot of really cool people here. A lot of them have been upperclassmen that I have met through mutual friends. I can tell there are a lot of people here that care about the new students and want to see us do well and make good decisions in and out of the classroom. I'm glad I'm meeting a lot of cool people here. I enjoy being able to close my door to work on my homework. It helps me avoid distractions pretty well. I was able to do about 2 hours of work tonight while staying focused, which rarely happened back in high school. More good study times to come, of course!
Anyways, I need to go to bed. I have Comp, Calc2, and Psych all tomorrow. Should be a good day.
More updates to come!
Corey
